Stephen Saklad, Pharm.D., BCPP
Dr. Saklad is Clinical Professor (Retired) at The University of Texas at Austin, College of Pharmacy, Division of Pharmacotherapy & Translational Science, and Adjoint Professor in the Pharmacotherapy Education and Research Center of the Long School of Medicine at UT Health San Antonio.
During his over 40-year career, Dr. Saklad provided clinical care, education, and research in various settings and treatment roles at SASH. He taught and mentored pharmacy students at The University of Texas about psychiatric and neurologic pharmacotherapy, pharmacokinetics, pharmacogenomics, and their professional goals. He taught and mentored graduate students about clinical research methods, teaching methodology, and professional communications. He precepted pharmacy students, pharmacy and medicine residents, and graduate students on experiential rotations.
Dr. Saklad is currently staying busy doing most of the things that he was doing as a full-time member of the UT Austin faculty, just a bit less, more vacations, and much less paperwork. He continues to teach clinical research methods for the graduate program. He is a commonly requested speaker for continuing education presentations, a consultant for innovative developers of psychotherapeutics, and clinical consultations for difficult-to-treat patients.
