Originally from San Francisco, CA, Malla Keefe attended the University of Southern California where she studied Neuroscience and French. After college, she spent several years in the Bay Area working in clinical research at UCSF, scribing, and later at a healthcare tech start up. She moved to the Green Mountains of Vermont for medical school at the University of Vermont. She fell in love with family medicine while completing a rural Longitudinal Integrated Clerkship (LIC), where she began to grasp the broad scope that family medicine could allow. Her professional interests include full spectrum rural family practice, addressing social determinants of health to provide patient-centered care, women’s/reproductive health, addiction medicine, and wilderness medicine. When not in the hospital or clinic, she can nearly always be found outside—backpacking long trails, backcountry skiing or snowboarding, biking around town or in the mountains, open water swimming, practicing yoga, or gardening!
