Overview:
During the “Optimizing COPD Care: Latest Guideline Changes & Clinical Insights” session, we will:
- Review the Global Initiative for Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease (GOLD) Guidelines for COPD diagnosis, staging, and treatment decision-making.
- Discuss the American Thoracic Society (ATS) and GOLD treatment recommendations.
- Examine the new COPD medications and indications introduced in the 2025 GOLD update.
- Explore the benefits and potential side effects of LAMA/LABA therapy, as well as the risks associated with inhaled corticosteroids.
- Address the limitations of COPD therapies in special populations, such as elderly patients and non-smokers.
- Discuss smoking cessation strategies to improve COPD outcomes.
Target Audience
The target audience includes primary care providers (MD, DO, PA, NP, PharmD, etc.), but all providers are welcome.
